Huge DBZ fan as a kid, very disappointed with this game though, I thought it was poop.

Actually, I have some pretty fond memories of this game, and playing it with a friend in co-op, which multiplies the fun factor by a huge margin.
It was also one of the first XBOX games I ever had, along with Castlevania: Curse of Darkness and MGS 2 :D

I grew up watching Dragon Ball and DBZ as a kid, and all I was really able to play video game wise around that time were roms of Japanese Super Famicom or Mega Drive fighting games (I actually ended up buying one of the Super Famicom ones on ebay a few months ago for less than $5 CDN including shipping which was reasonable). I think the Budokai or other similar games on GameCube and PS2 that were out a little after then probably would've blown my mind, but I didn't have any 6th gen consoles growing up (N64 was the last one my parents bought me, and then I bought a 360 with my own money when I had a job years later). Having gotten very much into collecting (read: accumulating) games over the past 5 years or so and buying a lot of the stuff I didn't have the chance to play then (or played pirated/demo copies of on the PC) I have found a lot of the DBZ games, and though I haven't been able to dedicate a lot of time to them, they haven't been able to do much for me. Even another game like Dynasty Warriors Gundam (I actually wrote an email to Nintendo as a kid suggesting that they make an Escaflowne game, because giant robot games would be cool - I'm sure there were games like what I was after available on PS1 at the time though) doesn't really do all that much for me now because the gameplay is so basic (I like RPGs, or even spectacle fighters a lot more). That being said, I'll probably fire up that Gundam game and give it a quick try again tonight.

On the review itself - I've heard it's the worst of the DBZ games (at least the home console ones). I've watched ProJared's big DBZ video series a couple of times and it looks like there are a lot better games out there.

Never got into Dragon Ball. I watched part of it in the early 90s when it was on this Japanese channel with subtitles here in Hawaii. LOL at whoever Broly is. Thanks for the video. :)

I played this game with my brothers quite a bit back in the day. We enjoyed it, mostly just because it was DBZ. :P But it was also nice to have a co-op DBZ game to play, rather than the VS modes in the countless number of fighting games based on the series. But I do think that it is a game that only fans of DBZ would get any enjoyment out of.

BROLY!

Was this really the ONLY DBZ game for the og Xbox? That's really odd considering how many others there were for everything else lol. I have this on the GameCube and used to play it with my siblings way back when, it was… fun, for what it was

when ever i see a dbz review i just hear blah blah balh. or actually turns in to peanuts teacher voice so i guess its wah wah wah but whatever. or maybe im just distracted by your white background wall paper, wish you vids just had black bars. ever consider lowering the brightness on that back ground wall paper garbich. possibly blurring it though i wouldn't want to change your signature twog style to much thats kinda your thing.
