I like the DIY stuff that is sometimes shown, but when they start telling you 'get these cottagecore themed careers to live your cottagecore lifestyle' and they list like 10 crappy retail jobs that typically pay minimum wage and have no medical benefits and the rest require thousands of dollars to get you through school for credentials and degrees to teach or own a business it's like, okay so either be already rich enough to live the aesthetic or be dirt poor enough that nobody can tell the difference if ur cottagecore or on the brink of bankruptsy xD

The one with the person removing the rat reminds me of a story of my own— a couple years back I was visiting the old haunted family farm in Norway for one last gathering before my grandpa sold the place (it was seriously gorgeous, the land and building is just beautiful) and since we have a big family, there wasn’t a lot of room— my aunts had to sleep in the cellar. One morning, they’re woken up by a bat flying around! They were super freaked out but my grandpa is used to dealing with stuff like that on the farm, so he just smashed it with a coke bottle and threw it out the window. Good memories lmao— I have more off grid type stories from that place if anyone’s interested :]
