I so understand the exhaustion. I also teach second grade and it has been SO HARD. they’re so needy, not independent, and I feel like I’m teaching September skills and routines still in March. My kiddos absolutely adore Happy Numbers!!! I love that it is meeting my kids where they are at to help them fill gaps from the last two years. I teach 3rd grade this year and when my kiddos came into my room this year, all but 4 kiddos came in at a 1st Grade level. They are all now 2nd Grade and higher because of this program and small group instruction. I can't say enough about Happy Numbers either. I am going to keep using this program as long as possible with my kiddos.

Teacher tip: I have an alexa ( the echo 8) and it the best thing ever my kids love it we have her tell us joke, play music, and tell us the weather! She can even present your morning slides! Of course its really small so i wouldn't do it every day but for something fun you can use it! You can also make it into a class job like clean off alexa or set up alexa or even ask alexa!

This was me in February after having Covid in January! No lesson planning at all but, my students learned about different historical black figures that they were never introduced too! That’s all I had the strength for! But now I’m back I’ve planned for all of March and some of April!

The exhaustion is real! I teach middle school. It is not better in middle school. Their ability to focus is so tiny. It's like we went back 4-5 YEARS worth of skills for so many of them. It's crazy. I am really curious to see how next year goes because I think this year was just destined to be really hard because it was just thrown back on us that we would be "back to normal" no matter what. It has been anything but normal.
