Join Dr. Angela Taveira-Dick and student Kevin Lambert for a discussion on peer support for veterans. Peer support is a psychosocial intervention used effectively with both veteran and civilian mental health consumers. This supportive intervention bridges cultural differences between providers and veterans and can combat social isolation and instill hope for recovery. This presentation addresses the ways in which peer support specialists can act as cultural brokers or translators between all stakeholders and how providers can appropriately integrate this type of support into their treatments plans with clients.

This event is part of William James College's Department of Military and Veterans Psychology virtual discussion series on a variety of important topics in military and veteran psychology. These monthly discussions are free and provide 1 CE credit to attendees.
