The Sm7b has a lot of white noise happening in my studio headphones. Not sure if it was having trouble with some room reverb or volume levels but it sounded terrible. The Neumann obviously killed it but the AT2020 sounded great for what it costs. Thank you for this video!

The Neumann killed it. I was actually determined to conclude all of them sounded the same with only a pinch of difference. Yet the moment the tlm hit there was brilliance showing. I like how the test didn’t let you know the microphone until the moment of because I believe many times people’s perception are skewed by biases such as price and good looks.

The Lewitt sounded really good for his voice. Probably should keep in mind that for these sound tests, it's not only about the quality but the feel for the project and the vocalist's timbre.

the Neumann mic sounds so satisfying to hear it just sounds so good. I have the Audio Technica AT2020 and I'm happy with it the sound is not bad at all. I honestly think the Shure SM7B might have sounded the worst just in my opinion.

Honestly this is the best comparison I've ever seen. All the mics sound great, but it's just a matter of what sound you want to project. They all sound different, but good in their own ways.

For the money, The AT2020 is easily the best value here. Of these, my favorite is the NT-1A, (mostly because I loved working with the original NTK and fell in love with Rode's sound from there). Of all of these mics, the NT1 is the purchase for me. The money spent is well worth it, and the upgrade to anything beyond that, doesn't really pay off for me personally and the sound I make. The Noise floor is amazing and I get the cleanest and flattest sound from the Rode.

For me, Neumann TLM 102 is the best mic for my taste. In the last 20 (+) years, I've been EQ'ing everything so that my vocals/harmonies and acoustic guitars can sound like TLM 102. During that time, there's NO internet. We have to buy what someone said or what magazine wrote. Now, I finally found my mic: Neumann TLM 102. Thank you YouTube and mostly you Edward S. You just saved my money.

For those of you getting an SM7B, make sure you get BRAND NEW low noise cables. Trust me it’ll save you from that annoying noise, and also sing with the pop filter off so you get more air. Trust me I’ve worked with this mic for months and was able to get it to sound better by doing that. And make sure you cut the lows a bit before doing compression because that’ll muddy up some of the higher air. Then your mic should sound sweet.
