How to Use Touch Up Paint on any Vehicle

To avoid putting a puddle of paint like he did with the brush at the end, you want to shake up the bottle, slowly pull out the brush WHILE moving your hand in a circular motion so that the surface of the brush touches the neck of the bottle, and excess paint is drained back into the bottle. As you pull out the bristles of the brush, you want to make sure one side of the tip of the brush is gently pressed against the neck of the bottle to empty more excess paint back into the bottle. You want just a small drop of paint on one side of the brush so that you can easily apply and control the paint. Remember its wayyy easier to grab more paint and apply another coat than to clean a puddle of paint from your car. Every time you dip the brush back into the bottle for more paint, repeat the swirling motion and again press one side of the tip of the brush against the neck of the bottle as you pull it out to empty excess paint. You only want a small drop of paint.

With that small drop of paint, apply an even thin coat and allow to dry for 5 minutes between each coat. Apply as many even thin coats as you need. The result will look better and last longer with 2 - 5 even thin coats compared to one thick puddle of paint.

For those with shaky hands that tend to smear too much onto surrounding areas: when applying the paint to the car, turn your left hand into a fist, and place it underneath your right hand. Then, extend your left index and middle finger. Rest the tip of your right pinky finger slightly on the tip of your left index finger. This establishes an anchor for more stability and precision for your application. You can move and rotate your right hand freely, as long as the tip of your right pinky finger is resting on the tip of your left index finger there is a noticeable difference in stability.

This is the professional method used at nail salons for grabbing just enough nail polish, enhancing precision of the paint application, while eliminating instability and shakiness that causes smearing.

It's good always wipe down paint with rubbing alcohol to remove wax or cominents. Once touch up is applied, I use a super thin plastic card to remove excess paint and let dry.. it end up even with factory paint depth. Easy as 1 2 3

This video gets you a subscriber. Just bout a car about 2 months ago and I have two chips in the paint about the size of the first two you corrected. Did not know you could use it on one the size of that last one. Do you have to do anything to those when the paint dries. I heard you mention wet sanding that larger one. Do you have a video showing how to do this.
