Kindness matters. period! Many of us remember this kind of crisis as we tried to help 250, 000 Katrina evacuees. The Syrian plight is unimaginable. To the Germans that understand their history and choose to change the past by living a loving present, thank you.

One word "assimilation". I moved to Russia for study nearly 4 years ago. I decided to stay and work after my first year. I've been teaching and working since 2015. I've learned Russian, I often eat Russian food, I also read their books, watch their films and listen to their music. A part of me is still American, but another part is Russian. These refugees need to do the same if they can get in a stable position in Germany.
