Meet Kelvin Doe from freetown, sierra leone growing up in a community that lacked power. Kelvin, only 13 years old and with no formal training, started building batteries and generators from scratch using materials he picked up from the trash, But he didn’t stop there. Kelvin even created a radio transmitter, starting his own radio station, broadcasting under the name dj focus to give a voice to the youth. His inventions impressed american companies and in 2012 kelvin became the youngest person in history, to be on the ‘visiting practitioner program’ at MIT. Now 21 he runs his own company called kdoe-tech inc. To empower other young african inventors and help them tackle the challenges their communities face

Kelvin’s refusal to see limitations and using what he had availableresulted in making a difference for his family and community and his impact has resonated around the world
