✍ Here is the transcript of the video

The PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle is a four-step model for carrying out change and continuously improving processes and products. Here's how to implement it:

1. Plan:

Identify a problem or opportunity for improvement in your process. Define the objectives and processes necessary to deliver results in accordance with the expected output.

By establishing output expectations, the completeness and accuracy of the specification are also a part of the targeted improvement.

2. Do:

Implement the plan on a small scale, if possible, to test its effectiveness.

This could involve making changes to a process, introducing a new procedure, or implementing a new piece of equipment.

Monitor the implementation, document any issues or unexpected occurrences, and collect data for evaluation.

3. Check:

Analyze the collected data and compare the results against the expected outcomes defined in the Plan stage.

Look for deviations in implementation from the plan and also look for the appropriateness and completeness of the plan to enable the execution,

i.e., "Do". Charting data can help visualize trends, and highlight process stability and capability.

4. Act:

If the Check stage shows that the Plan was successfully implemented and is effective, standardize the change and communicate the new method to all relevant personnel.

If the Check stage shows the Plan was not fully successful, revise the plan and repeat the process.

▶ Conclusions

Remember, PDCA is a continuous cycle. Once the change has been fully implemented, you can start a new PDCA cycle to drive further improvements.

This iterative nature of the PDCA cycle makes it a powerful tool for continuous improvement in the industrial engineering field.
