Kennel cough, also known as infectious tracheobronchitis, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that affects dogs. It is caused by a combination of bacterial and viral pathogens, most commonly Bordetella bronchiseptica and Canine parainfluenza virus. Symptoms include a dry, hacking cough, sneezing, and nasal discharge. It is usually treated with antibiotics and supportive care, and most dogs recover within a few weeks. Coconut oil about 2 teaspoons a day helps. ..I broke it down to a little each time the coughing would get bad. It's antibacterial and anti viral. It does so much! Also light sprinkles of oregano is excellent as its a natural antibiotic put on dogs food. Warm water with a little honey helps soothe their throats and steam from a shower or humidifier. A face sauna also helps. Lots of rest. Limit exercise.

My dog has been coughing like this for a few months now, I never thought anything if it until I saw this video. His name was Hugo, and he was a German shepherd. Sadly he died a few days ago. I miss him a lot. Rest in peace my love :(

Kennel cough is the dog equivalent to a cold, aside from the coughing and boogers its usually mild, often doesnt require any sort of treatment and generally goes away on its own

I just started working at a dog daycare and from what I’ve heard it’s decently common and easier to contract amongst larger groups of dogs.. I’m sure he’s alright now though

this brought back so many sad memories for me. I lost my golden labrador to a canine virus just like this, she was just as scared and sick as these poor labs. We tried everything and fought for a whole month but sadly she lost her life. I would not wish the death of a pet on anyone, the pain is just unbearable.

Bless the baby my Lab had gotten kennel cough FROM GOING TO VET there was a small dog tht had it and she got it. It was aweful I think vets should be more cautious ⚠️

Feeding 1 teaspoon of honey mixed with lukewarm water is one of the best remedies for kennel cough. You can give it to your dog using a syringe or just give 1 teaspoon of plain honey directly. Administer this three times a day, and continue for about two weeks. Your dog should recover soon.
