Flyzone Calypso Glider Review and Flight

I had the chance to try the Calypso glider out before it was released to the public earlier this year at SEFF 2012. Chris Sydor from Hobbico reviewed the plane for me and then let me try it out which was so cool! After flying it at SEFF I knew I had to have one.

The first five minutes of the video is a quick pre-flight break down of the Calypso with tons of pictures and information about it then Candy and I hit the field and show you how the Calypso handles in the air.

That's a good question. I don't know for sure, but I will do some testing today to see how far the range is.

Yes, it is made with aero cell foam. That's the trademark name that flyzone uses and it is similar to epo. Thanks for watching.

You are so right. I was bummed out that it came in the mail just days after I came back from the beach. I so would have flown this at the beach and next year I will.

I've never flown the radian pro so I can't honestly say. The ailerons do make it easier to fly at low speeds close to the ground though. Taking it out again in a little while for another flight and hope to have another video of it soon.

I've been flying my Calypso for over a year now and love it. Alas, it appears that Flyzone has discontinued the full-sized Calypso. The micro Calypso is still available from different sellers, but no longer see the Calypso or replacement parts any longer.

Ahh, you caught that. It wasn't there on purpose. I think I picked it up at the field. It wasn't there when I left the workshop and I didn't find it until the video shoot was over. Thanks for watching and the support.
