I read Lud-in-the-Mist because I first heard of it in an earlier video of yours, and I wanted to say thank you, because I would've never picked it up otherwise, and now it's one of my favourite books of the year too!!
(Also your videos are such gems.)

Very nice collection of your favorites, Christy! I also liked "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt and the other books we read in the Book Club together. 🥰My personal favorite this year is "The Snow Child" by Eowyn Ivey. Very beautiful, imagery writing and brilliant display of human emotions in times of hardship. 💞

My top three were : Babel, Motherhood (by Sheila Heti), The Bass Rock (I think you would love the imagery in this book, it’s so well written, I expected nothing and got so much out of it)

Nice picks, I did read the fault in our stars by John Green this year, it broke my heart in a million of pieces. I also loved we don't talk about bruno. but my personal favorite book I've read this year? I have to say the Six Crimson Cranes, which is a fantasy book by Kim Lim. I definitely recommend it for next year, but she also just brought out its sequel, The Dragon's promise. It was so good, you'll definitely end up loving the characters, i love the writing style (which is in first person or, Pov) I loved the story and the cover is beautiful. I'm going to read The Dragon's Promise next year for sure.
But I loved the video and I hope your fantasy novel is going okay!
