It's looking really good my friend! I just finished removing the stock 8-1/4 w/390 sure grip and upgrading to an 8-3/4 but w/ a 373 "true-track" on the advise of the shop that did the work on the drop-out section. I had some trouble removing it using a 4 wheel dolly like yours. But I'm a weak old man. LOL I used a motorcycle jack and unbolted the last two bolts on the leaf shackles. It went back in really smooth. Was planning on posting a short video of it sometime soon. Good post bro.

373 is going to be sweet! Be sure to use Mopar only sure grip additive from the dealer. I am told Lucas and others will cause chatter. Don't know for sure but that's what my mopar "experts" in our club tell me.

Like the middle finger. If you knew how many times I have done that LOL. It's a pain now but it will be worth it when its done. That little 318 should run good with them.

Did you repack those axle bearing with fresh grease because that's a good time when they are out to do this being they don't get lubricated by the gear oil unless the axle seals are leaking lol. Some of the older 8-3/4 rears have a pin that will drop down when you pull the axles out into the bottom of the case so you want to make sure that doesn't happen because what will happen is you won't be able to set the axle end play or what happened to a buddy of mine many years ago thinking he got the axle end play adjusted right then took his 69 charger for a test drive & could smell gear oil after about 10 miles of driving because the axles had too much end play which ruined the axle seals spraying gear oil up into the rear wheel wells & onto the hot exhaust burning the gear oil which stinks like hell by the way lol . We pulled it back apart & found this pin laying in the bottom of the case & hadn't known it fell out which caused all this mess . There is supposed to be a retaining block on some model 8-3/4 that holds this pin in place but they can crack & break being they are made of cast iron & this retainer also slides back & fourth inside with the pin held in the center of it to allow it to move so you can set the axle end play . Another thing I didn't understand about Chrysler is why they didn't drill & tap a hole right between the axle seal & bearing so every 10, 000 miles or so you could unscrew this plug & screw a grease zirk into it to pump a little grease into the axle bearings once in a while instead of have to pull the axles out to grease them . They are a pretty strong differential & I hear that one of the gear makers is now making soft gears for them for drag racing like they have for the Dana 60s & Ford 9 inch but haven't looked into it . Supposedly the soft gears take some of the shock from a hard launch especially if you are running big power with a lot of torque with a manual transmission while launching & the gear absorbs this shock without busting the teeth off of the ring & pinion like hardened gears often times will & shatter being they are more brittle . Are you planning on going to Mopars in the park this weekend because if so I will keep an eye out for you to look at the car & BS for a while ? I think me & my buddy are going Friday early morning but not 100% sure yet but more than likely will to try & score on some parts at the swap right away for the 69 Road runner we are trying to finish up to finally get it back on the road this summer after a 4 year build coming off of the rotisserie .

all that work i would do only to swap a Dana, or pull the Pumpkin unit out. I seen at Carlisle P.A. the Moser Guy had an 8 3/4 he said is basically indestructible... it was heavy duty for sure

Nice 👕. The rear gear is going to make that car feel 1k lighter lol.
