From zero to ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER in 5 DAYS! (KOH TAO SCUBA DIVING at SAIREE COTTAGE DIVING)

Since 70% of the world is water, learning scuba diving gives you access to a whole new world that most people never get a chance to see, and Koh Tao is one of the cheapest places in the world to do it! Koh Tao scuba diving is well known around the world, and it was 100% the right choice to get all of our training here. In this video, we complete our PADI Open Water Diver (3 days, 4 dives) and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course (2 days, 5 dives) at Sairee Cottage Diving in Koh Tao. It was our first time breathing underwater, going scuba diving, and seeing some of the awesome coral reefs and fish in the Gulf of Thailand! We walk you through our whole experience, from the classroom components, our thoughts and feelings pre- and post-dive, complete with some underwater footage from some of our dives.

Though Koh Tao isn’t easy to get to, it is filled with many dive shops, each with unique emphases and vibes, but similar packages and prices. Doing research and figuring out the right dive shop can be a bit overwhelming. We can highly recommend our experience with Sairee Cottage Diving. Connected to a resort, on the beach, with its own pool for the confined water sessions, its own boats, taxis to the pier, good location, solid equipment, and the most thoughtful and diligent staff, you’ll have everything you need to smooth out your nerves, as you go down into the water. During our time doing our Open Water and Advanced Open Water, we visited White Rock, Green Rock, Mango Bay, Tanote Bay, Hin Pee Wee, Buoyancy World, Junkyard Reef, Twins, and Pottery! The Open Water Course included learning and practicing skills in the resort pool and in the open water, while the Advanced Open Water Course included a peak performance buoyancy dive, an underwater navigation dive, a deep dive, a night dive, and a fish identification dive. We had an amazing time diving around Koh Tao, and definitely caught the diving bug!
