What’s funny is certain tech reviewers have railed on devices like the Pixel 4 because its face unlock was “too fast” at unlocking and opening to the home screen.

I'm glad you talked specifically about the claims of IOS 13 being like miles ahead of the Snapdragon 865, which has never been really proven IMO. I see it said by big and smaller YouTubers almost daily though, especially since the IPhone SE 2020 released. Now I did think it was well ahead in video rendering, but then remembered that I hadn't seen a direct competition between them. Last one I saw was the Snapdragon 855 against IOS 13, and yeah IOS did smoke it.

The reason I never cared for benchmarks is because going off of the actual performance of the phone in specific use cases matters more.

Sure it's cool for the number, but when my LG g8 still plays a game I play the most the best out of all my phones what is a benchmark really telling me then?(not just talking marginally better it runs twice as smooth compared to my note 10 which has the same processor and lower res screen lol)

Aside from just gaming and just the basic experience nobody talks about the smoothness of ui anymore other than just a "yeah it's smooth". same with ram management just because a phone has 12 gigs of RAM now doesn't mean it's well managed my note 10 is constantly using like 2 gigs of ram just idling lol.
