Royal Caribbean Cruise Waterpark - Worth the Cost?

One of the newest editions to Perfect Day at Cococay is Thrill Water Park. If you are looking for some extra excitement Royal Caribbean Cruise Water Park might be a good option for you. We are going to tell you everything you need to know about Royal Caribbean Thrill Water Park so you can decide if this is somewhere you want to spend your time and money.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has recently given their private island a big refurbishment. It cost them millions of dollars and cruisers are loving everything it has to offer. If you want to relax at the pool or snorkel in the ocean, Cococay has it. The Royal Caribbean Water Park does cost extra and the price varies depending on the time you go and ship you are sailing on. Some sailings have seen the cost per person as low as $44.99 while on our sailing it was almost $90 per adult and this is for a full day pass. The only way to access the island is on a Royal Caribbean Cruise so if this is something you would want to do be sure to check them out.

There is a lot to do and different areas to explore. Royal Caribbean Perfect Day Cococay Water Park has 4 areas to enjoy. Daredevils tower is the large tower you can see from your ship, that is the tallest structure on the island and is 135 feet high. The next area is Splash summit, it is not as tall but still lots of fun. For these slides riders need to be 48 inches or 4 feet tall or 40 inches with a life vest. The third area is adventure pool which is for young kids. There are obstacles, a climbing wall, rope swing and more water activities. This was a very popular area for younger kids. The fourth area is the wave pool. This is a great place to cool off, in the shallow end the waves are much gentler but as you head deeper they do get much larger.

It is surprising how much they are able to fit on the relatively small island and still have the appearance of spaciousness.
The burgers look great as does the beach.
Good job showcasing the offerings, most helpful

It looks amazing, the natural beach as well as the water park rides encourage me to visit.

Just went there two weeks ago, and loved the water park. Totally agree about the food in the Snack Shack. The burger was awesome. Fresh and juicy.

Totally agree about a lazy river. We enjoy those in between the crazy stuff to calm down and relax. Hopefully they add one of those soon!

We are going to be at cococay on the 4th of July and price was $199 on sale right now for $158.. I can’t justify that price for one day for the slides they have. I want to do daredevils tower but I don’t think it’s worth that price. I’ll probably wait for another cruise that’s not a holiday. I was expecting maybe $100 but not $200, that’s just crazy

Great run down of everything 👍 I can only travel at peak times and I think I would rather enjoy the beach than pay almost $100 each for the water park. Maybe if we can go when it is cheaper.

We went on Harmony of the Seas in June and we were not able to go to Thrill Waterpark because it was sold out. Mariner of the Seas was also on the island that day. So if you want to do Thrill waterpark, be sure to book it as soon as you're able to!

IMO, absolutely not worth the current price which is well over $100. Less than $100 I would be okay with. Only spending this much (about $138, pre cruise) to spend time with my cousins and nephews because they want to do it. Price went up after the initial sale so now it's "pre cruise" $150 something, but full price is $178. Ridiculous. Clearly the price is arbitrarily set and irregardless this would not be worth approaching $200 USD at full price. I don't go to waterparks often, and I want to spend time with my family. My family is worth that $130 but that's the only reason why I bothered to spend that much and even then begrudgingly so cause I think had it been up to me I'd have not spent this much.

I cruise in 2 weeks on Oasis. I don't know if this is post-pandemic inflation, the price of a June summer sailing, or both. But it's ridiculous.
