Great lecture! As an aside, a field does not require the set to be an Abelian group under multiplication(since 0 does not have an inverse in R).

what is the alternative proof for root 2 irrational?

Ah! That's really interesting to watch such a concept with a teacher like you. But a doubt in that second proof you said that the number of times, 2 appear in q² is even and that means RHS will have 2 odd number of times. But aren't you taking it as an assumption that there is no such rational number(r)for which r² can be 2. Aren't you considering your assumption as what you have to prove.
