Anybody can own a retic as long as you're willing to dedicate yourself to care for it and treat it correctly, I would love one and I'm getting ready to own one, I'm getting a retic and my pops is gettin himself an albino Burmese, and whether you're willing to care for it and increase it's enclosure size as is it grows is a huge thing, and I think that I you want to own one all you have to do is really dedicate yourself to it, I have 2 ball pythons, a normal, and a jungle and I love them both so we'll see how it goes when we ad these next two giants to our family (: not to mention I'm dying to get myself an anoconda!

That size I could probably handle. Very pretty snake, by the way! Also the smaller clutch means less mouths to feed.

i have got 2 boa c. i.
they are 2 years old and about 4 feet (1, 30m, i'm a german) and retics and burmese and anacondas are too big for me. i don't have the space to hold them. and i know i can't handle a 12 foot beast alone. and they eat more than mice or rats. it is also a question of money you have. but i love them. and watching your show make me :-D. you are awesome.

Could you do a follow-up on this snake and her feeding schedule?

most people that get retics WANT them big...so they feed them a lot more than they need. if you feed any mainland retic, one food item, once a week...about the same diameter of the largest part of the snake, they wont get huge. they also will be very healthy and happy. they are also as active as most colubrids, and people are not used to this in large constrictors...so every time they see their retic cruising the cage, they think they are hungry...so they feed them. I offer my retics pretty big cages compared to a lot of people, and they are very active and don't rub their noses like they do in smaller cages. they will eat any time offered, but one food item a week, about the same diameter...is plenty of food, and will keep a retic very healthy. they don't have to be huge to be happy and healthy folks.

How long is she? Because truth be told I would love to own a retic I just don't want to deal with a snake that's more than say nine or ten feet long tops. And six to seven feet would be better.

for you guys, I know they can stay that small, but how??? how do you feed that snake to make her so tiny, more than showing how small she is ... better teach people how to keep them small
