This will be an awesome event! But lets not kid ourselves, the race start time is set for 10PM in Vegas, which is 1am on the east coast. This is not prioritizing the vast majority of US fans. Though it is prioritizing Vegas. I'm not complaining though, because I'm used to staying up to stupid hours to watch Melbourne and Suzuka. But don't expect this to be a ratings success in the US.

Vegas is a perfect fit for F1. And that's not a complement.

If F1 really wants to succeed in the U.S., they should allow Andretti Racing to have a team. It was horrible timing to announce the Vegas race during the same week that a statement was made denying Andretti. I have watched most F1 races over the past 30+ years. My fear is that F1 will follow the “entertainment” model like NASCAR. Andretti Racing is the equivalent in America to Ferrari, McLaren, or Williams.
