This videos shows fundoscopy (looking at the back of my eye) using an iPhone X with NO EXTRA EQUIPMENT!
I dilated my eye and performed this in front of the mirror to examine my own optic nerve. The iPhone X, XS and XS Max are the only smartphones on the market currently able to achieve this without any extra hardware!
This will hopefully enable telemedicine in delivering eye care around the world.
I have published this technique in JAMA Ophthalmology:
