Understanding how they work is not the problem. Knowing the pressure they make or break at is. No one has access to factory tech support for every manufacturer. Some manufactures do not list the pressure on the switch. Without that information you cant be 100% sure of your diagnosis. I'm assuming the issue is either the inducer assembly or the switch and not a venting issue.

Some issues are the bugs getting in there....tech support for some of these manufacturers is now a sales based thing....sales persons are doing the tech support so you will not get technical buy buy buy buy.

No no no the pressure switch closes when the pressure is right too high of pressure will not open the switch.
