I've just seen Amsterdam. The trailer didn't really reveal what this movie was about. It was amazing to see so many well established actors putting in great performances. The three main leads were exceptional. Great credit has to go to David O Russell who demonstrated how skilled a director he is. Unmissable.

It was a great film. The pacing and plot were great and it has some really interesting twists with a suspenseful ending. Feels like the kind of film I could watch several times to catch new details with each rewatch.

Rotten Tomatoes 🍅 is full of crap. I just finished his movie and it's the best movie I've seen this year and the best movie I've seen in a long time. Smart and creative and funny, set in Los Angeles in the 30s and based on historical facts. What more could you need in a movie? The dialogue might be partly improvised and it's all brilliant.

Christian Bale is always brilliant but especially so here and everybody is wonderful and quirky. The whole cast is an amazing surprise.
