I reflowed my Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 Ti OC Gaming Windforce about half a year ago and got it to work way better and at lower heat output, previous owner had used it for mining and the heat had melted some connections, it has been working ever since and I just sold it as I upgraded to a 6800xt.

I have also rx6600, check the voltage, only 12 volts present, reflash the bios, everything works as it should, next morning same situation, card dead, repeat the process of rewrite the bios, works again, no problem, order a new bios chip, didn't work, I reflow the main cip, it works now. But what test can I do to be sure is really good to go for long periods

My video card fan went to craps and so I was forced to take the heatsink off to repair the fan, was no other way of getting the fan off due to the card design. I repaired the fan, physical blade damage only, not electrical and then put it all back together. Went to post and nothing, no screen, when before the card worked with zero issues. Finally I got a screen after messing with it, but now it's just major artifacting beyond use. I did have a hard time getting the heatsink off, it was pretty stuck on the GPU, I'm wondering if that didn't mess something up?... and is it fixable? Could reflowing the GPU fix the artifacting?... or is it a vram issue?

I am always skeptical about reflow/reballing. Why? Because the loose connection is often not between the pcb and the flip chip, but inside the flip chip itself (between the actual crystal and the substrate). So, reflow/reballing is not a reliable fix because you can't actually resoldering properly the crystal to the substrate (the ball here are much smaller, they mel at higher temperature, and, more important, you should also change the resin between them that help a lot when it has to support the thermal stress.

nice tips on how to reflow.
Didn't know you can check under the processor and uses flux for reflow?

I just did this to my apple D300 card. And it now boots. It had white lines and would not load drivers. I hope that this repair will last did not do stress test yet.

Great video. Question, what would cause the processor to have lose connections like that?

What was the paste you put on the card and that machine to press the chip?

Why you won't put links to the tools in the description, reballing solder balls, board heater, gpu ic heater, ic suction syringe, flux, soldering iron... etc.
Thanks

I did it with heat gun, on 560 Ti, got 1, 5 year more out of that card.
