Matara didn't deserve all the backlash she got.. it eventually got canceled because figuring out how to distribute the money fairly was hard to well figure out. and people never being satisfied and always asking her to increase the reward and lower the difficulty of the art. i felt kinda bad for her. she had dropped the 12 to 6 which seemed fairer but even that wasn't enough for people. it reached the wrong audience. shes always there supporting the fans. and im saying this as a nobody. she is incredibly sweet and really tried hard to make things work.😔

The "controversy" around Matara's art contest is so weird to me. It was enough money to get professional artists' attention, but not enough to make them happy. I tend to think the casual artists and small time commission artists kinda got screwed over, but that's just me looking in from the outside.

That Matara's situation is just so dumb. Nobody forces anyone to participate. If you as an artist think the prize is not worth the effort, just don't participate and move on. It's a contest, not a commission. I mean, I get if they just want to say it not worth their time, but putting that blame on Matara which led to Matara cancelled the whole thing is just ruining the fun for everyone.

I get if the company didn’t want that kind of content as part of their image. But the forced public apology/posts posing as a “sorry” is absolutely not the good idea. Somthing that should be clear in the contract/higher in process and handled behind the scenes more as a hey friendly reminder

You would think they'd have figured out people don't like companies that stifle their talents creativity or otherwise treats them poorly by now.
Given how many agencies have gone under or are suffering for related reasons(kurosanji).

Vols pretty much is confirmed to have management that has no clue about vtubers, there is no sense in being offended over a small meme like that.

Also, 2 graduations in one day (Tsumugihime from FSP is the 2nd), 2025 is also going to be a dark year for agency Vtubers. If you aren't Holo, Phase, Vshojo, or Nyantasia (because Sanrio has near infinite money & a 3rd gen coming); you're facing a constant threat of being shut down or bought out like Re:AcT.
