Aesthetically, we wanted to ground the video somewhere that matched our comfort while listening to the song. We developed a queer adaptation of the postwar, Ozzie and Harriet aesthetic. In this space, we reveled in the curl-your-toes excitement of young love and examined the pitfalls of trying to love someone while navigating the social constructs and identities. The dancers and choreography shift between gender roles, combining ballet and contemporary dance with sharp isolated movements and everyday gestures. This VR music video offers a level of intimacy not felt in traditional film and theater, so we played with that by juxtaposing moments of almost interactive closeups with more conventional choreography. All in all, this immersive experience, like the song, invites viewers to feel for something lost while still appreciating its beauty.

Ok ok ok - I just watched in stereoscopic 180 and WOW! What a completely different experience. I take back my other comment in shame. That was mind-bogglingly GOOD. I pretty much love everything about it. It's literally like having a live musical performance done just for me, I was 100% engaged the entire time. I especially love the part at 0:53 where the dancer's eyes just straight up sparkle, and I love 2:00 where the other dancer flirts and dances with me. And the tomboy dancer - wow she is beautiful. That is so wild because I literally thought nothing of either dancer watching in pancake mode, but after watching in 3D VR I am totally crushing on them haha. I've been a VR enthusiast since I got my OG Vive in April 2016, and even I am surprised with how much more engaged and emotionally invested I became going from pancake to 3D VR. Absolutely brilliant, to all of you who contributed.

And now I am sad Hugh. This is what all music videos should be. This is exactly what blockbuster movies could be. The immersion is just 100% off the charts. And now I'm sad because you have proven what i imagined was possible, is definitely possible - but it's going to be some years before it becomes mainstream. 😥

Nice - great to see someone really experimenting with these 360 cameras, exploring what's truly possible with the technology.

Would of preferred to be more on stage, performers dancing around the camera. More immersive I feel.

Beautifully done, thank you! Feeling that the close-up portions work best. Would love to see more like this, maybe some bright-lit theater, putting the viewer into the stage, working with mimics, posture, gesture in a way traditional cameras can't compete with.

This video, in 180, is amazing on so many levels: the dancers, the music, the production, the direction, the editing, everything.
