I say Sequel normally, but I'm not super confused if someone says SQL.

SQL and Sequel are both fine for me. But I don't think 'circle' is correct when I hear some people pronouncing it like that.. ☹

In the later 90s early 2000s we still called id Sequel.

I'm here because I said sequel at an interview and then my OCD kicked in because I know I have looked this up before. And why would I say sequel if a professor did not. As long as it wasn't completely wrong.

It is pronounced as individual letters (S-Q-L). SQL is not pronounced as a word (“sequel”).
