Two of the best football teams in the state facing off at Naperville Central as Lincoln-Way East comes to town. Central lost to the 2017 8A state champs last year but this year could be a completely different game seeing as Central and East both have Big Ten recruits on their team.

We start on the opening drive as the Griffins fake out even our camera man. Handing the ball of to Devon Williams who opens up the game with a big run for a first down.

Remember that Big 10 recruit of East’s I was telling you about… yeah his name is AJ Henning and QB Kyle Quinn connecting with him with 10 minutes to go left in the first puts the Griffins up 7-0 early.

Central trailing by seven in the first quarter. Junior QB Sam Jackson heaves up just a beautiful pass to Reggie Fleurima for a big gain. The drive ends with a field goal, Central trails by 4.

Griffins capping off a big first quarter, Devon Williams gets the hand off and then you literally can see him turn on the jets and gets another big touchdown. Going in to halftime LWE leads 17-3 and the east fans are obviously pumped up.

To the second half, and Sam Jackson starting to connect. He gets a 14 yard completion to Keon Green on the slant to put the redhawks at first and goal.

Few plays later and what do you know, Central finds the end zone on a slant to Fleurima. Redhawks trailing by just 7 points now.

Redhawks looking to continue the momentum. Trevor Simpson with the hand off and then goes 17 yards down field in the fourth quarter.

Central still looking for that touchdown to even up the score. Jackson makes another completion to green and he fights for the extra effort but it would result in a turnover on downs.

East up 24-10 as time is winding down in the fourth and this play would be the dagger as Williams goes for a 65 yard run to make the final score 31-10. Naperville Central now sits 0-2 for the second straight season.
