But amidst the Aston Martins, Jags and Lotus’ that we’ve driven over the years, there’s another brand that has an equally unique story, TVR. It’s a story our own Roger Mecca learned about when he got behind the wheel of one of their most storied designs—one that has the looks, speed, style and thrills American car fans search for, but few ever found.

Ah, how I admired these from the early Gran Turismo games.

Just for the record, the name, TVR, was an acronym for the company’s founder, Trevor Wilkerson (“TreVoR”, as the company put it.). None of them even had third brake lights on them, being British home market exotic cars. Not even airbags or ABS.

I miss TVR. Was a huge fan of them. No idea how they made it to 2006, but they made really nice rare cars. The styling was amazing, the price not too outlandish, and they were simple/pure.

The "380i Tasmin" was a 280i. They were available in the US. There was also a 350i that never officially made it here, as far as I recall.
