This type of ERV has been pretty much the standard in many parts of Europe for almost 10 years now.
We also have a bunch of manufactures that sell similar performing products to what Zehnder showed here.

Excellent well-designed and thought-out system. Great video presentation.

Square duct, the supply return=highway, round ducts are the branches =feeder streets or side road, Flex duct is the gravel road off of the feeder street!

I’m surprised that the runs are still manually adjusted via the run open/close valve handle, vs having a measured power actuator that can be controlled via a dashboard/app?

Steve-- great information, but I wish you had let the Reps lead or at least talk more and focus your commentary in the "big red" segment; you present so much stronger then.

I would have loved to hear more about Zhender's reliability (as ERVs have a terrible reputation), or how Mitsubishi's controls will integrate with the radiant floor system to create a choesive solution.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Steve solar is free.. Especially for us we are off grid.. There's always haters out there about solar. Im building a bigger cabin out of 2x8s and it will be so efficient .. Im gonna buy the ac/DC mini splits to run of the solar panels alone.. We can run everything that everyone else runs the best part is I will have power when everyone else gets black outs during summer we can't trust our grid... Thanks steve for all ur videos im building just like u and matt... Keep it up brother

Seems like they’re doing everything to the nines, which is great. Was hoping that they, or someone, would do radiant cooling, too. Maybe the tech is just not ready for prime time, but it seems to me that you have to do humidity control anyhow, and radiant heating and cooling in the ceiling seems ideal, from a comfort, energy efficiency, and space utilization flexibility perspective.

G, day Steve from Sydney Australia.
Thank you for the explanation and experience on A/C ducting, airflow characteristics and products.
It has been my "headache" for two years, finding solutions; for
* Penetrating fire rated walls (basically NO)
* Rate of airflow v distance
* Access, insulation and rust prevention.
Most of it is a flex duct and tapped joints above suspension ceilings which is hot.

All the times your channel has discussed HRV and ERV, I do not recall seeing what your inlet and exhaust ports and locations on the hours look like. Really need help understanding and planning to add HRV to my house in WI.

I love that Steve is so direct. Told Mitsubishi that their stuff is ugly, on camera 😂

Great show. A trick you're missing though is to tell us, the audience, the climate zone that you're working in for the particular building that you're in. We, the audience, need that info to make the show more relatable to where we are.
I don't have a company to build and sort out all the details. I'm building my own place, and I need anything (info wise) that makes the materials and process more specific to my situation.
Thanks guys

Contrary to the description, there was no talk of heat pump vs ground source. :(

Does the Zehnder comfo flex ever need cleaning like typical duct work ?
