Great sober / sobering review. I'm not one for the extremes, even though I love buying extreme equipment, so I'm not fussed if this will or will not survive the most extreme of circumstances. It will more than do, for me. Thanks for the great review.

The Vern tents are perfectly fine…..as long as you use them within their limits just like all good tents. It looks like some folks have over hyped them little as if they are a true mountaineering tent which they are not. I think that’s what all the chatter is about….cheers!

Great first impressions video matie. Looks like such a quality tent and I'm sure you can't wait to get out in her. She'll see you well through the winter months I'm sure. Look forward to see it in action!

Seems like a decent enough tent. I agree with comments here, most tents are gonna have issues when you pitch them out in the open in 60 plus mph winds.

I just scored a once used Hilleberg Rogan w/footprint for $800.00 AUD. Exceptional value as you are looking at $2000.00 new for the above. To
my eye it looks unused and is a fantastic bit of kit. Just a real quality feel to it

&

A Fjallraven Abisko 2 Dome for $1150.00 AU with every coneiveable extra

The Abisko Dome 2 alone is an insane $2640.00 here 😮

Is brand new and I am yet to pitch

The Vern in Australia is arou d $1000.00. Not bad value but the self seam sealing was off putting if Iam honest whether, as some say here, you don’t really need to do it or not.

Horses for courses stating the obvious

A good review here btw

I like the tent, but will need to see what the sales bring, and in time of course it should drop in price. Thanks for the video, very helpful.

Lots of bad reviews about this tent but mine is great I cant fault it, but then there are fans of other makers out there that will look for faults as always but they had been trying the tent out in 40 plus winds and it does mention in the booklet that comes with tent about double poling it for more strength also it does not really need seam sealing but users on here have mentions about sealing the areas were the toggles are as will let tiny droplets in but it does let much in and nothing to worry about and im yet to get out in the rain with mine as of yet

It does look to be a good tent. I do think though they should have retained the extended storm protection over both entrances as they did on the original Vern 1. Seems an odd decision to drop that feature.
