Special rain update - rest of October in NZ & Australia

Our usual forecast today but also a special rain outlook for the rest of October as parts of NZ start to dry out and Australia’s rain making low pressure zones continue on.

At the end of today’s video we have a long range update on rainfall for both NZ and Australia for the rest of the month, basically showing which areas are most exposed to heavy rain and which areas are not.

With NZ’s long weekend almost here we also take a look at the next three or four days coming up, plus we do expect some Frosts over the next 48 hours in both islands, almost entirely inland.

We have the forecast for NZ and Australia to next Wednesday + the rainfall update for the rest of October.

I'm from Australia and the new Zealand and this weather station is extremely good.
It's clear and concise which is much better than the Australian bureau of meteorology and I don't know why the OZ weather stations take a lesson from you Kiwi's who seem to have a better grip of such things.
I really like all the cool names of new Zealand's towns, they have a real ring to them.

Absolutely love this channel I don’t even follow our weather here much in Australia any more as they blow everything out of proportion you are more concise and as I’m a kiwi that lives in oz I like to see how my mum is going weatherwise in Nz for snow frosts etc (north Otago )

Mainly commenting for the algorithm but I will add that the colour key for the the rainfall maps is absolutely fine!

I realise there must be a few people letting you know that they are confused for you to regularly mention the key in your broadcasts but I don't see that there is an inherent problem - some people just have a hard time reading maps.

In relation to climate drivers like the Southern Annular Mode (SAM) is the 40°-50° at latitude of global positioning "the roaring 40s?"
Therefore keeping the polar lows South, letting high pressure North?
