This is what I want in the bedroom but with a lining. Will have to rewatch before I cut & sew my fabric...thanks for sharing 😊

Thank you SO much for this tutorial! I watched it around 10 times and finally finished making them today, and I absolutely love them. My issue was that my carpenter put in replacement windows last year, and instead of insetting the windows so I could put my blinds back up inside the window sill, he made it flat inside, and outside he left the inset window sill. I didn't realize until he'd finished. I really don't know what he was thinking. But this alternative to a roll-up is just perfect, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤

I'm so glad I found this tutorial! This is exactly what I was looking for! Our house unfortunately has shallow-depth windows upstairs, and I've made outside-mount roman shades with the French blackout method for the bedrooms; however, at times we'd like to let some light in while retaining some privacy. We can just mount these inside and layer our window treatments with this now!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Lord, I knew to find a tutorial explained by a lady. Lol . Men do things totally different with pullys and I'm thinking, why do you need all of that... 😂
I subscribe to your channel. You did a great job on explaining how it works, and I appreciate that.... I am making roll-up blinds for my big porch. I'm tired of the curtains when a storm blows through. With these blinds, I will be able to raise them out of the way.. thank you again ❤.. Jeana

Do you know how to string these blinds using 3 pulleys (eye hooks)?
If so could you tell me. If not, thanks anyway. This is a great video & helped me a lot!

Hello! Very beautiful. Can you show how this is strung on the back? Is the string tied to the top hook? Thank you!

This is a great video and instruction. The only thing I’m not sure of is how you get it to roll up so nicely. When I run the cord up and over then down the back, it lifts the shade but more in a wad than the nice roll you have. How do you get out to roll up the bottom?

Just made my shade using your tutorial. Your tutorial made it so easy and fun! Thank you. One thing I don’t know what to search for when looking for the wooden cord ender.

Thanks for the great explaination and for sharing this vid :D I am trying to make an outdoor shade (about 11 feet wide) and have a few questions.
- Does the heaviness of the weight rod matter? (for wider shade, do I have to use heavier rod?)
- Can I use hollow rods as weight rods (eg, hollow metal rods or hollow plastic rods that are used for indoor curtains?
- If there is a wide area that needs shading, is it better use 2 or more shades or is it alright to use just 1 very very wide one?
- Are there anything important to take note about when making really wide shades?
😅😅

Peggy, would these be possible with heavier fabric like a Pendleton blanket?

I am making it to go on the sides of a pergola. Could you use this method with sheer weave ( what they make roller blinded out of) or would it be too stiff to roll. I know sheer weave roller blinds have the chain/ clutch mechanism.

So sorry if you mentioned this in the video and I missed it...but do you happen to remember the cost of the materials for this project? Your patio appears to be about the same size as mine so I'm just trying to get a rough estimate to know if its doable before I decide to make the long trek into town!!
