I'm using javafx for industrial applications (SCADA), communicating in master mode with modbus networks and providing awesome screens. I can tell you that it really work better than other SCADA systems platforms that are widespread in industrial automation.

i really like Swing's Look and feel system, never was a fan of JavaFX but i understand its utilities.

Although AWT is platform specific its way lighter than Swing in several ways

I love the idea of listing 20 websites being easy, I don't use 20 websites daily, I have my phone with apps exclusively made to fit the website's function rather than function build on top of a browser and standardized navigation styles.

Thanks for clarifying the difference between the three. I'm in a Java class and we're learning the AWT, but I don't like their lessons the school provided, so I look up YouTube tutorials.

I'm confused because the vids show a combo of AWT and this thing called Swing. My assignment tell us specifically to use AWT. Now that I watched your video, I know now my school is teaching only AWT. It's so outdated! =(

well.. according to this video, i guess Swing is still the best for developing desktop applications. In any other kind of applications, javaFX is much more better.

Why would it make “no sense” for the application to look native? That would be be the expected behavior.
