His sig LC is cracked. Highest base def for a light cone. Highest def% given at S1. This def bonuses makes it easier for him to reach the 4k def threshold. Gives massive crit dmg to make him a good sub-dps. Gives a dmg vulnerability debuff on his FUA, good for Ratio and Acheron team. It's super worth it imo, it makes Aven a great in one unit

If I really like the character and know I’ll be using them a lot usually give the LC a chance. A limited budget like 40-50 pulls. If it comes early, that’s a win. If it doesn’t, I’m not broken about the jades. And those pulls stay there for the next great LC.

Of course it’s good to evaluate the other options too, just in case :)

It's pretty cracked, but if you're a f2p or a low spender who wants some vertical investment iit's still more prudent to go for signatures for your dps characters

Edit: But on a more serious note. I believe Gepard’s LC is arguably better for him in turns of both defense and offense. The reason being the following:

Even though his sig LC gives 40% DEF and a higher base DEF stat at 661; Gepard’s actually could give around 48% DEF although with a 595 DEF base stat. If you pair the LC base DEF with characters’ DEF, this number rounds to about the same final DEF.

The most significant thing about Gepard’s LC is it increases the attacked frequency of the preservation unit, and that’s something Aventurine doesn’t have in his kit as far as we know. His follow up stacks also stack 2/7 whenever he is the one attacked, and only 1/7 when teammate is attacked. That means with Gepard’s LC he gets a much higher shield refreshing frequency = a better defense capability (as you mentioned in the video, they shield usually are expired before they are even completely drained, which is very true for a character like Gepard, and the same will be for Aventurine.)

Also his damage mainly comes from his follow up attacks, so the more frequent his stack reaches 7/7, the more frequent he deals damage; this also improving his damage output overall (assuming both reach 4000 DEF, which honestly is very achievable.)

Gepards’ LC also increases his Effect Hit Rate which I assume he needs a bit for his Ult but Idk if that’s true or not.

The only significant contribution his sig LC gives is the “debuff”. That is a more unique ability. I don’t know if that 10% is a vulnerability multiplier, or a damage dealt multiplier; or if they are even the same concept. Because they could yield different damage boost for different situations (such as if it’s damage dealt, it will be less rewarding for Acheron than for other characters, just because she already has that multiplier.)

The way I look at sustain character LCs is if it contributes a decent damage increase on all teams it's better value than a DPS signature as this character will likely be used on one side of every MOC or SU run. Whereas your DPS will likely be only used if the element or path buff fits.

He deserves all mortal possessions so yes, absolutely the light cone is necessary-

However there's also the pretty Sunday and Robin light cone that's also on the banner, and the newer preservation one you can get with shards from moc/PF.

Need a whale to show their love for Aventurine by getting 100 copies of his light cone.

Destiny lightcone can be a good option for acheron teams if you have her sig lightcone cut you can use broken keel on aventurine to get 10 crit damage which will increase your overall damage

I want to get his LC as well but I also like and want Boothill. My Aventurine build is done already, I'm gonna use This is Me! LC. Hit the 4k def and good enough defensive and offensive stats, too. So I will skip the LC for shark teeth. Maybe I can get it next time. I am so excited 😆

I didn't know his LC was that cracked, also because it applies debuffs, which is great for Dr. Ratio and Acheron...
So I decided to raise the pity to maybe find some GDSW on Acheron's LC banner and... I just found Acheron LC in 30 pull

I am a bit on the fence since I know I will most likely use Aventurine almost everywhere so his buffs will always be useful, as well as that extra dps for MoC
But I'll wait until Robin's kit is revealed because a bit more damage for himself and a bit more for the team might just be miles behind what a next limited Harmony character will offer just solely based on how well Ruan Mei works with every team on a 3-star Cogs 🤔

I really don't think his sig is all that great. watching a bunch of the dream videos and showcasing between 150 CD% (15k~ FUA) to 200 CD% up to even 240 CD% {20k~ FUA) is really negligible since his follow up attack multipliers are fairly low, 40% CD% may seem big but I don't think it's that large.

where as my argument goes out for gepards lc with taunt value because when aventurine is the one hit you get 2 stacks by single target enemy attacks (more consistent FUA?), and by default he will take the least amount of damage from those hits... psudo increasing his preservation abilities as well.
