Did you enable the other performance options in optifine (fast math, smooth world, render regions, etc)? If not then it's an unfair comparison

no one is confused by the fact that optifine and vanilla have video card frequencies of 778hertz and sodium has 1889hertz

Now compare the number of short lags (dropped frames) with different Java 15 garbage collectors. I use ShenandoahGC (Java 15) instead of G1GC (default for Java 8) and have no lags.

the thing I hate is it uses fabric and most of my favorite mods arent even fabric mods

for me sodium just makes the fps much, MUCH more stable than vanilla but it doesn't give too much of an fps increase, well, it does increase it by 5 fps or so but it does make it so much more playable thoughO:
