In this video I talk a little about the pre shot routine. All good players have one and if you don’t then you desperately need to have one. Running the same routine each time ensures consistency.

Good lesson, Shaun. But I think you missed placing the white ball back for the red one. Can you show us how to correct that in a future exercise ?

Very interesting when you say you look at the pocket first which then let's you pick the point to hit on the object ball. I guess if you don't do that then you can't have a reference in your mind to correctly sight the object ball. I have problems with sighting and trusting the point of impact and I guess always ensuring you look at the pocket gives you a guide. I notice you do that when you play. Thanks for the video Shaun and good luck in upcoming tournaments. Simon

Hi Shaun.  Loving you You Tube Channel.  Would love to see a Practice Routine section with categories for beginners / intermediate / advance.  I have made competitive centuries and would love to see some great practice routines to improve my game from my favourite player.  Best of luck in the World Final I really hope you become World Champion again

hi Shaun

i like the video you put up, however could you go into more detail how you sight the contact point on the object ball.
i struggle so much with this. do you look at a point, or an area i.e the arc of the OB or something else

HI Shawn, This is great. Thanks so much for posting. When you are down on the what are you thinking about? Is it nothing? Is it a feel? Is it a cue action thought? Is it a rythym and tempo thought? I am having a hard time when down on the shot figuring out the best way to go about it. Sometime i play best when not thinking about anything. Other times i play best when i have a routine when down on shot (i.e. how many feathers, sighting ect). Would love to hear your thoughts on this specially what you focus on in pressure situations. Thanks so much. Chris, canada

First, this is gold. Thanks so much. Second, I don't know if you mind posting a video for how you cuing in motion, Especially with wrist action. It seems to me, everytime I tighten my grip, my accuracy drops. Hope you can help us. Appreciated

Hi Shaun I would like to ask ...no two snooker players cue exactly the same but the top guys are more consistent in what they do I'm thinking timing amount of feathers pause and driving through the white etc.,  Players like you and Mark Selby seen to play the same on every single shot.  This is where my game is different - I noticed whenever I made a century I seemed to keep to the same timing but because I don't play all the time I find it hard to do when faced with different shots eg deep screw or off the cushion.   Your cue action is very consistent and to get it this way did you work on the technique off the table too?  If so what did you do?  How long did you work on it until it became second nature and habitual?
