Valkyrien Skies is one of the best transport mods imo, even though it's really unstable when it comes to mod compatability. I was really surprised when I figured out that Sound Physics mod actually ruins VS in such a stupid way - you can't mine blocks in survival (otherwise the game crashes), so keep that in mind when trying to use VS in modpacks.

Viaducts are EXCELLENT, and it's a shame they didn't make it into this video. They're pretty much tubes that you can place around your world and enter into at different points to get to other places along the tube. They even had Long Distance Viaducts, which compensated for chunk loading and "charged" every 20 chunks to ensure your computer wouldn't have a meltdown while you go so fast through the world.

Immersive Vehicles and VEB Automobilwerke Schwikau Military/Civilian Tanks, Helicopters, Planes, and more! mods are also good ones and they are probably the best transportation mods and are very realistic
