Definitely one of Mike’s best bass lines, also if you ever go back to it I’d love to see a Bass Albums that Changed Music video on Dookie. Mike is on fire on that record and it’s fucking awesome

The variation after the first chorus I think is just as beautiful and unique.

I had just picked up a guitar when Dookie hit. The guitar parts were simple, the bass lines are what made all those songs unique.

Always a fun bass line to play that makes you think of what else works

She, Sassafras roots, Welcome to Paradise, When I Come Around. These songs and Longview were some of the first bass lines I learned and are my favorite ones to play to this day. Pretty much every song off Dookie actually. Mike can play counter melodies like nobody’s business.

Absolute genius bass line. Incredible respect for the one and only MIKE DIRNT!

The simplified version of this was the first bass line I lured when I returned to the bass after a 10 year spell

That came out when I was in high-school and I always loved that bass line.

That was the first song I learned on the bass and it’s still fun to play

I learned this at 16. 41 now, and it's my warm up song. Never used a pick.

This is a neat for making what I once thought was a hackneyed bass part seem classic.

Ey thank you for making bass video in punk genre. I thought this channel was too cool for punk bass line 😂

I never knew it was played like that but it's really interesting because there's a lot of goofy stuff I play exactly like that

It's funny to watch this in depth look into a bass line Mike came up with on acid

Funny to think of Green Day as "classic". I remember when this song came out, and it doesn't seem THAT long ago...
