There are some vehicles that when the power steering pump gets weak it randomly locks the steering into positions instead of just being stiff to turn.

The valet company I worked for back in the day had a damage threshold, money wise on when they would terminate you. Can't remember the number, want to say it was 2-3k. Either way, the first guy lied, and then tried to make excuses. An instance fire in my book. People these day need to have better character. Own up to your mistakes!
