This is my favorite kind of video that you do, discussing ingredients of a product, researching and finding the studies, your findings and recommendations, especially for skin care and anti-aging. I've always been curious about bio oil. I think I tried it once a long time ago and it did nothing for me. Recently my daughter got a big scrape on her cheek, and after it scabbed over I could see it looked like it was going to scar. I got two products, one was a gel and the other was silicone sticky bandages. I use the silicone during the day, it was skin colored like a Band-Aid and the gel at night with a bandage. It took over a month of doing that daily, but it worked so well! I'm thrilled she doesn't have a scar on her cheek.

I wish they would leave the fragrance out! People think this is a miracle product, but it has ingredients that can irritate some people’s skin.

I was encouraged to go use it by the surgeon when I recently had a cyst removed. I have used it every day and not noticed anything that wouldn't have happened with natural healing. I will look at silicone, thanks Karen. By the way you look great today x

I bought Bio oil years before it was widely available in the shops as I was desperate to treat a raised keloid scar on my face and had heard it was good for scars. I had to order it in to Boots and it cost £20 which was really pricey back then! I was so disappointed as it did nothing for my scar and felt heavy on my oily skin. After several months with no results I ended up just using it up on my feet and using it felt like a chore. They may have improved the recipe since I used it. I got rid of the keloid scar using a sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP( Vitamin C - took nearly 3 years of daily use to get rid of it completely. Don’t know if an ascorbic acid vitamin C would have been quicker but I have rosacea and cannot use ascorbic acid vitamin C - my skin just stings for ages if I try.

Wow I can't believe how expensive it is in the UK. It is a South African product and much cheaper here. It is also not very hyped up and I used it once, but was not impressed at all. I feel like pure Argon oil has much better results!

Can I ask a weird question? Why not put silicone gel on your whole face at night? I don’t have scaring on my face but wouldn’t it be a good anti-aging cream?

I actually found bio oil very drying! My skin just didn't like it. The fragrance I think was what dried my skin out. Great video. ❤️❤️

I've never understood the hype. As a former staff nurse I look at ingredients and would also recommend silicone for scar tissue. I looked at the ingredients years ago and was very underwhelmed, so I have never recommended it to anyone. Silicone sheets can be used on larger areas of the face cut to size, but certainly would be difficult on very mobile areas like the eyes and mouth. Oils like argan or rosehip can be useful in the treatment of scar tissue when used to massage the area, encouraging blood supply, but only when it has healed over. Medical grade silicone is the recommended treatment as far as I'm aware too and is far more effective than any perfumed mineral oil. I always think this stuff is an example of really clever marketing. Be well and best wishes.

Wow! What are you doing for your face right now? Your skin looks so tight and even and beautiful. I’ve followed you for a while and you look so beautiful at the Moment. Stunning. I can hear some strain in your voice and I hope that’s because you’re making more videos than usual because of the lockdown. Your videos make my day.

I used Bio Oil in my legs as I have some scarring there and I broke out all over my legs not long afterwards. Might have been a coincidence but I've not touched it since just in case. I certainly wouldn't put it near my face ! Wish I'd known about the silicone, I don't suppose it works for really old scars does it ? x

I agree with you. I used this over 30 years ago for a hysterectomy scar. This was in South Africa. I found it no good.
