Roy Baumeister - Free Will and Moral Responsibility

Is free will required for moral responsibility? If a person with a brain tumor breaks the law, should that person be judged by lower standards? It's a slippery slope, because if a legal defense is based on a 'my brain did it, not me' theory, and if it holds, law enforcement will suffer.

Free will is contingent on how much effort you want to put into it. Just like abs and biceps.

There is no way thru science even to predict what a person would choose. The probability can be made but it is never certain.

How about this, there is no such thing as free will and when one realizes this you have the choice to accept this. This is the one choice you have, and knowing this will set you free.
