This is my first radio performance I’ve listened to, I’ve read and listened to all I can get on YouTube in this genre, I can’t across this by accident and how very very grateful I am, others on the Chanel also to enjoy, but for now, this is absolutely enriched my being, during a dry, heavy and challenging time for me, just what I’d needed and didn’t even know!
Thanks for sharing this for many who will gain from it.
Thankyou! 🧙‍♂️ 🤴

This book is actually FOUR DIFFERENT BOOKS that were written a number of years apart from one another, only to be amalgamated into a final volume in the late 1950s, almost 20 years after the first book, which comprises the first part of this play, was written. That is why the book is divided into 4 parts that appear so different in tone from one another. Certainly, for example, the delightful first part on Arthur as a child is far different in tone from the later parts such as the parts dealing with Lancelot and Guinevere. It can be confusing when it shifts gears if you are unaware of this.

An amazing dramatic performance. Every voice was the character, and gave life once again to legends.

This book would seriously deserve to be recognized just as much as The Lord of the Rings. It deals with the same themes and carries the same message, and it does so in an equally beautiful way. I read it again recently with more attention and interest than the first time, a few years ago - I had liked it then too, but not really understood it - and I was blown away by it. Especially by the Book of Merlyn.

Try Lamplighter Theatre, focus on the family Radio Theatre, or G.A. Henty Heirloom Audio is you enjoyed this. Not perfect but you will probably find something there to enjoy also.
