Powerful winter storm brings rain and snow for holiday travelers

More than 250 million Americans are in the path of a powerful coast-to-coast storm. Snow and wind caused blizzard-like conditions in part of Colorado overnight. And in North Dakota snow and ice made for treacherous travel conditions for drivers. Meteorologist Jeff Berardelli reports.

Every time there is severe weather (thunderstorms, snow storms) that causes flight delays, it only highlights the viability of high speed rail routes in this country. I bet every traveler that has to spend yet another night on the floor of some airport somewhere would jump at the chance to ride the train and be home in a couple of hours.

Los Angeles passed a $1.2B bond measure in 2016 to address homelessness
Projected per-unit cost of apartments for homeless ($700K) is greater than the county's median sales price for a home ($618K)
Absent wider reforms, rising unaffordability will continue to push more folks onto Los Angeles' streets.
Demanding more federal aid to address homelessness in Los Angeles, Garcetti is asking for taxpayers to subsidize this dysfunction. Instead, the mayor should look at making deeper reforms to the city government he runs.
