Yes a secret is secret it is one of the most important aspects of life and it is also the deepest impact of trust. And if someone told someone else's secret/secrets that trust is broken and it won't be easy to get it back. For most people if you break there trust normally you never gain it back. Or their lose of trust in other people. So always keep a secret if it's very important to that person don't go and break just to fit into a group just to be popular or because you were angry at the person. Stay true to your friends and family and respect them and their secrets.

You should definitely keep most secrets. If someone tells you a secret or confides in you about something that may be bothering them or be embarrassing to them and you go and tell everyone, that person probably won't confide in you or tell you anymore secrets because you broke their trust. However, if someone tells you a secret that puts anyone in mortal danger you should tell someone about it even if it could break their trust. Like if someone tells you that they want to end their life you should tell someone about it. Sometimes the person confiding in you doesn't say flat out that they want what their telling you to be kept a secret. In situations like that if the thing they are telling you seems to be an embarrassing topic for them don't bring it up in conversations and don't tell everyone. Other times it's difficult to determine which secrets you are willing to risk your friendships/relationships with people for. At the end of the day just use your best judgement to decide if the secret someone told you is worth risking your friendship/relationship with that person for.
