The pyboard is a compact and powerful electronics development board that runs MicroPython. It connects to your PC over USB, giving you a USB flash drive to save your Python scripts, and a serial Python prompt (a REPL) for instant programming. The pyboard has been around since the original Kickstarter for micropython as it was the original development target. The other supported platforms came later.

kibibyte ? kilobyte, fast growing Nope, it is just fast and open source, growing => yeah if you mean that more devices are getting their drivers ported ... so you can connect and control many devices.
