I enjoyed this, but I much preferred the Matt's Burning Rosids.

That's why the case says "A MODERN TAKE ON
A BELGIAN CLASSIC"

I agree with you on this one.  I really liked it but there was a lot in there.  I'm not a huge saison fan and my friend got me this one.  It's definitely gonna make me go after a few more saisons.

The best beer for the hot weather is Weihenstephaner Vitus!

I am not a huge Saison fan, but I really dug the big floral, peppery notes in this one. I too liked Matt's Burning Rosids more, but I couldn't drink that one every day, whereas I thought this one was perfect in a six pack.

For me, this review was spot on. The lingering, overbearing, floral/lavender wasn't up my alley.

Agreed the downer of this beer is the herbal spices. A lot of Americans do this brewing a saison. I like it to just have the 4 ingredients without anything added.

I just remember the lavender being extremely overpowering when I had it. It was like drinking liquid lavender soap. This was probably the first Stone beer in a while that I just don't like.

If you get the chance, i recommend BFM 225 Farmhouse saison. :D

Nice review, I agree a little spicy for me, but a not a horrible beer. Still love everything Stone does. Enjoy your reviews, keep up the good work.

That's gotta be a testament to Stone. This being you're least favorite by them and you still have it a B.

I need to try this again but it wasn't doing a whole lot for me when I tried a taster of it. Just meh.

Gotta agree with Ryan Reschan this was not Wow it was Meh For me I like my saisons funky and complex there wasnt that Much complexity in this beer, but it was worth trying Im glad I got a single at total wine and didnt buy the whole 6pk. Cheers But I would like to try it 1 year from now!

Very strongly disagree with this one. I found there to be a very prominent hop bitterness in the palate, which was quite Stone like. And I thought the beer itself was quite dry, bringing forth the rustic character I love of saisons. Also, you do get the regular spice backbone of saisons, intensified as you would expect from a Stone beer. I thought this was really fantastic, and a lot better than the hyperbolic mess that was Matt's Burning Rosids.

Had this on draft and didn't enjoy it at all.  The herbal flavors took over and was too sweet for a saison.  Also didn't have enough carb  which could have been due to bar's draft system but don't think more carb could have saved this mess.

I love stone and I love saison. but the stone saison, eh. I really expected more. I can't blame them for taking a risk. that's what they're built on. oh well. one fail out of how many successes?

Too many spices. The spicy/herbal quality takes away the great drinkability it would have without it. It would have preferred a hoppy saison like FW's Opal.
