Just helping Gordon Ramsay improve his fire safety skills in the kitchen. I don't think he wants to listen though...

I wouldn't be shocked if he did this just for the cameras. Probably knew they had plenty of fire safety measures, and a big flame makes better TV than just smothering the flame

No joke - had an oil fire start while I was cooking the other day. Panicked for a moment and I immediately heard you yelling in my mind to cover it with a lid. So thanks for the laughs…and helping ensure my home is not on fire.

Bro you can literally see Gordon smiling on his way over to the sink. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Love how you can see Gordon having a mile wide grin while he almost skips over to the sink....🤣

This was clearly done to “play up drama” for the show. Countless times in other shows Gordon has handled grease fires with the nonchalance of an experienced chef

There is something freakishly innocent about Gordon's "Imma gonna start a fire!" grin.

This is very bizarre, because I SWEAR I've seen incidents on Hells Kitchen where he takes care of fires promptly and professionally.

Nice bit of theater on Ramsey's part.

I have two kitchen fire stories. First, I was working as a camp cook, making hash browns on a six-burner stove. I had gotten the oil nice and hot, and dumped a bag of frozen hash browns on the huge steel square pan that covered four burners and was miserably heavy. I didn't know that over the humid summer, the freezer had got opened a lot, and the hash browns were accompanied by a ton of ice! The ice pushed the oil off the pan onto the burner, and I had a foot-high fire going at the back of the stove, luckily with a high back with a warming/utensil shelf on it. What could I do? Breakfast was at eight. I just kept stirring and kept an eye on the fire, which burned itself out.

The second one: one day I was driving home from work, and I got a call which began, "Mom, first of all, we're all OK." Now there's a sentence guaranteed to raise both pulse rate and blood pressure. One of the kids had wanted to make popcorn and covered the heating oil. (We all make mistakes.) She uncovered the pan and the pan backdrafted and caught on fire. They started for some water, and then remembered a video of a firefighter dumping water on a grease fire. They looked at each other, said, "No water!" and grabbed the fire extinguisher and put it out. Was a heck of a mess, but I was so glad they were ok.

This, my friends, is what show writers will do. Make you look like a moron and you'll thank them for it.

I feel like the "for the love of all that is aioli" joke was severely unappreciated 😂 that was one of the best jokes I've heard in a LONG time

I now fully expect Gordon Ramsey to green screen himself into a video of you cooking something, lol.

Bobby Fillet! Whether or not that was intentional, you, sir, are a national treasure! With a brother and brother law, who are both firemen, I really enjoy this stuff. For every sad, difficult story, there's a really funny one to make up for it!

remember, he does it for show. I have seen him do that exact same thing in lots of his shows. He also make sure there is a small bit of water to flame it up more. I saw him on the F-word just come over and put a top on it and call everyone muppets. I also have seen him wait until most of hells kitchen burned down before taking charge because the idiot threw spaghetti water on it. Gordon wasn't ready and had to work for a change. Everyone froze, it was epic

There's not a doubt in my mind that he is well trained in dealing with grease fires and definitely did this for the show.

I've been dishwashing and had chefs putting pans of flaming oil into the sink full of water I was using (with warning). A fireball is created but disappears quickly. It got to the point I'd turn away to save my eyebrows and keep working.
I was even scrubbing away and cleaning whilst the pan I was holding was on fire. You get used to it.
Other times a pan has caught fire and the chefs gave 0 Fs and declared they cook with fire.

The Gordon scene was clearly played up for the cameras and it made him seem inexperienced.

My dad, a 👨‍🚒, was at a friend's home. This friend was frying chicken & it caught on fire. They went to grab the pan to through in the sink. My dad stops them, covers the pan & puts it out. He then takes all the chicken, wrapped them up & proceeds to leave. The person asked where he was going with their chicken. He said, "you were just ready to ruin all this chicken, so you wouldn't have had any chicken. I saved the chicken, it's now mine." We had fried chicken for dinner at our house that night.

“Bobby ‘fillet’ would’ve done it right.”

Yes. The fish man knows.

He did it on purpose for the sake of television. Y'all really think he doesn't know how to put out a grease fire? hes done it before
