Exclusive Interview – Omar Rudberg & Edvin Ryding

Q+ Magazine got the opportunity to sit down with Netflix's Young Royals Omar Rudberg and Edvin Ryding while they were in New York City for their appearance on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

We dived into some deep questions about the happenings of season 2 (including things we couldn't ask the last time we got to speak with them), and we dabbled in some mild season 3 discussion. They shared some of the cool things they have seen from fandom in response to the show, and Rudberg makes a confession about Young Royals YouTube reactors.

4:29 Omar is right. We don't know if Simon Will be happy being prince as well or a king in a future. But I think he will be a good one. In the first episode of S1 Simon was talking about politics and economic issues in class.

I recently discovered that I am bisexual and not a lesbian so I had to re come out to my family. Both my parents and sibling said terrible things to me. They were fine when I said I was gay but ig they're not okay with me being bi. Wilhelm being unlabeled in young royals gives me hope. It's really hard to exist as a teenager in general but maybe at least people will respect us growing a bit more if we have representation.

the thing that makes this show different then a show like HeartStopper is that the issue isnt them finding out they are gay for eachother but like everything around them, it has never been like "i dont wanna be gay, im not gay" but rather "I am gay and you all have to deal with it bc im not changig" like yk? they arent afriad to be gay but rather its just somethingf else yk, and its nice to see that :>
