R.I.P. Christine! We love Bob Harris here! Please bring back "The Old Grey Whistle Test!" All of rock's biggest acts played on this show without any lip syncing, etc... Great show and Bob Harris was the host.

In her writing she knew how to hit the spot for listener. A gift & a generosity.

Lovely tribute. Whispering Bob is so knowledgeable & passionate about music, he’s a joy to listen to. RIP our very special Songbird.

The Mac meant a lot to me in my early 20s and this is just such sad news. It's had me listening right through their '75-'87 albums again and remembering the love. Legends, all of them.

Bob Harris is both a British and an American musical treasure.
He is loved on both sides of the Atlantic.

I've been following FM for years. I don't think Christine ever liked being on stage and touring. After she married John, she was content to be an English housewife to John McVie. Stevie wrote a song on her Bella Donna album to Christine, entitled "Think About It" as an ode to Christine's desire to quit. Christine once told Stevie "It's (music) your passion. It's never been my passion." I guess in 1998 she finally had enough. I'm so glad she returned in 2014. So sad she left us so soon. RIP, Songbird.

I think Christine's maiden name says it

I would recommend that people who know about FM from "Rumours" on, to go back to the earlier Fleetwood Mac albums, particularly with regard to Christine's songs. For example "Show Me A smile" on Future Games, and "Why" on Mystery to Me, and particularly the live version on FM Live at the Record Plant, 12-15-74. That live broadcast is on you tube.

I was watching the morning News in Sydney Australia, when breaking News came on the screen, saying Christine Mcvie of Fleetwood Mac has passed away I yelled out "WHAT" I wasn't the only stunned. I always loved her songs. I was listening to my favourite FM breakfast radio "Jonesy and Amanda" catching up with Thursday show on podcast a couple of days later Amanda Keller said we have just received some breaking News, and Amanda says "Oh my god Christine McVeigh of Fleetwood Mac has passed away aged 79, later on the show they paid her a fitting tribute.

I remember first hearing rumours and obviously you remember go your own way and dreams at first but as I've got older all the Christie mcvie songs have become my favourite. An unbelievable talent

Saw Chicken Shack back then and on the programme with Mayall and Fleetwood Mac at London's Saville Theatre.

No idea who Bob 'Arris or the two hosts are, but RIP Mrs. McVie, you will be missed. Not many, if anyone at all, of today's female songwriter-performers are fit to loosen your sandals ...

Such a beautiful & talented artist was Christine...another one lost to a sudden death that seems to be happening way too often in the last 18 months to fit & healthy folk....

The BBC will call the chapel of rest when the sad time comes so Bob can do his own obituary.

She was a proper English girl. Not at all self absorbed and annoying like Stevie.
