Kaiya Nyasha: Berklee Two Track I Equality
Показать описание
Kaiya Nyasha performs her original spoken word piece "Black Women" and a cover of "Free Mind." Her story speaks to the equality that's needed in music technology and her work with Girls Make Beats, and also how that drove her to select her cover tune.
Layering lush harmonies over themes of self-love, 21-year-old alternative R&B artist Kaiya Nyasha uses her music as a call to action for the youth to empower themselves to rewrite their narratives. Her music is a celebration of culture, of womanhood, and of hope. The Miami native has found a balance in fusing socially conscious messages with upbeat, light-hearted grooves and catchy hooks.
Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel in continuity.
